History of 8BD

Prior to 1957 8BD was an unpopulated region of a massive farming empire. This empire broke up in 1956 and 8BD was founded in 1957. 8BD became a Republic under T.N. Smith. T.N. Smith established the capital of Smith City on which present day Budgie City rests. Under T.N. Smith’s long reign many of today’s characteristic features of 8BD where laid out including the Pine ranges and the Great Plains which dominate Zone 2’s landscape. T.J. Smith during the late 1960’s was President. T.J. though soon left to peruse a new future. T.N. Smith continued his rule into the early 1980’s when he passed away of cancer. Mildred Smith was unable to secure a clear mandate to rule, during this time Peter Smith served as President while Mildred served as head of state. During Peter’s decade long rule 8BD began to take its current form. On the sight of Smith City Peter built a massive elevated city known as St. Peter. Peter was a born again Christian and tired to unsuccessfully convert the majority of 8BD to his form of Christianity. The lower interior regions also received its current appearance during Peter’s rule. Peter also established the Zoning system which divided 8BD into its current four zones. Mildred passed away in 1994 and Peter gave full control of 8BD over to T.J. Smith. T.J. Smith launched a massive modernization program including a new walkway, doors, paint jobs, and an overhaul of St. Peter’s (now Smith City) infrastructure. Frank Smith in 1997 peacefully took control of 8BD. He immediately overhauled the ancient military into a world renowned fighting force. He clamped down on dissidence and had an especially authoritarian rule during the first few years. Smith City was renamed Budgie City. In 1998 the block wars against Meyer broke out. To protect itself 8BD intruded into 6BD causing a few incidents and also took de facto control over some territory in Iran. The block wars ended in fall 1998 in a draw. In 1999 foreign affairs took precedents. 8BD began imperial conquests in Kramer Lane, Hall, and 68Amby. Most imperial possessions where given back in the winter of 2002. The Sump which 8BD controlled the southern half of since 2000 was given dominion status in late 2003. During 2002 the Government of 8BD took its current form with a National Party, Central Committee and intelligence service the CSS. In late 2003 most small and medium sized businesses where privatized and military over went reform. The GFR was formed in 2003 sealing the alliance between Sluder and Venezziano. The 8BD Dollar was also replaced that year with the GFR Banknote. In 2004 8BD signed a full alliance with McK. This trade was unexpectedly terminated in summer 2004. 8BD plunged into a recession given the economic and social implications. As of December 2004 8BD had made a full recovery and continues to be one of the most powerful nations in the YM circle and one of the most respected in the ShopRite.
